A Gentle New Year Reflection: What Do You Want to Feel More Of?

Aimee LaRue | DEC 26, 2025

As we move toward a new year, I like to take a moment to pause ~ not to set resolutions or push for big change, but simply to reflect.

For so many of us, the new year can bring pressure:

Be better.
Do more.
Fix everything overnight.

But a few years ago, I read a book that really shifted things for me:

The Desire Map: A Guide to Creating Goals With Soul by Danielle LaPorte.

It helped me move from asking…

“What should I achieve?”

to a much softer question:

“What do I want to feel more of this year?”

That one question changed everything.

Because instead of forcing yourself into goals that don’t really fit, you begin paying attention to what your heart and nervous system are actually craving.

Maybe it’s…

Ease
Strength
Connection
Peace
Joy
Clarity
Confidence in your body
A little more spaciousness in your day

There is no right answer.

Simply notice what rises when you ask the question ~ gently, without forcing.

Simple Reflection Prompts

If you want to spend some time reflecting, here are a few prompts you can sit with:

What helped me feel most like myself this year?

Where did I feel supported and where did I feel challenged?

What is one small thing I want to give myself more of in 2026?

What am I ready to gently release?

Take a few deep breaths before you write.
Let your nervous system settle.

Maybe make yourself a soothing cup of tea.
Give yourself permission to take your time.

A Wish for the Year Ahead

As you step into a new year, my wish for you is simple:

That you feel more at home in your body.
More supported in your life.
More connected to the people and practices that help you feel grounded and whole.

Thank you for being here.
It’s an honor to walk alongside you.

With love and gratitude,
Aimee
